Seeing my brothers graduate I realize that I cannot imagine saying goodbye to friends like that. It just seems so hard, and I wonder if I’ll just make myself a nerdy recluse just to avoid the saying goodbye. And avoiding the saying hello. Those are my least favorite parts of friendship. I just suck at meeting new people. It really bugs me a lot. Anyway, I might be having a little pre-college angst. With a few exceptions, I don’t feel too strongly about my friends from school. It is hard, but avoiding relationships with others because you’re worried about the possibility of one day saying goodbye will yield only an empty life. Life without others is not worth it. Yes, some choose solitude, but the fact that you even think about the saying goodbye shows that you need relationships. Those who don’t are very, very rare.
Put yourself out there, because it’s not goodbye for good unless you want it to be.
